How to use iCloud Keychain on iPhone and iPad?

iCloud Keychain is a feature by Apple which focuses on password management. With iCloud Keychain, you can easily store passwords, credit cards information or shipping address on any of Apple’s device(iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Mac) and sync and access them from any device via iCloud.

iCloud Keychain acts as Password Manager and you can easily store your personal information such as your passwords, credit card numbers and expiry date, home address etc. While using Safari, you can easily access the stored information including passwords and credit card information from iCloud Keychain.

While iCloud Keychain is very beneficial and comes in handy, you should also remember that if you forget your iCloud password and cannot reset your password then all of the stored information will be lost so, you shouldn’t rely on it heavily.

How to enable iCloud Keychain on iPhone and iPad?

To store all of your information and access it across different devices, you will need to enable iCloud Keychain feature first.

  1. Go to Settings > (Your Name) > iCloud.
  2. Scroll down and look for Keychain.
  3. If it is not turned on then tap on the slider to turn it on.

How to disable iCloud Keychain on iPhone and iPad?

If you don’t want your information to be stored on iCloud then you can disable Keychain feature. To disable it;

  1. Go to Settings > (Your Name) > iCloud.
  2. Scroll down and look for Keychain.
  3. Tap on the slider next to iCloud Keychain to turn it off.
  4. You will be asked whether you want to Turn  Off Safari AutoFill.

  5. If you want the stored information to be stored on iCloud, select Delete from My iPhone.
  6. If you want the stored information to be stored on iPhone only, select Keep on My iPhone.

That’s it, folks! You can now easily enable or disable iCloud Keychain anytime you want to and access your stored info across different devices.
