Apple’s iCloud have many great services that users can avail even without any subscription plan and one of the services is a dedicated @icloud, @mac, or @me email address.
This email address will be like your any other email address. You will be able to receive and send emails just like you do on regular email addresses.
The main point of having an @icloud, @mac, or @me email address is that an @icloud.com email looks unique than the usual @gmail or @yahoo.
Using this email address, you will be able to sign up for different services around the internet and receive emails from them.
How does it work?
Your @icloud, @mac, or @me email address will be based on your iCloud account. Before you can make an @icloud.com email, you will have to create an Apple ID using a non-Apple email address, for instance, Gmail.
Once you have created your Apple ID using a non-Apple email address, you will be able to make an @icloud.com email address.
This email address will use the storage of your iCloud and all the emails will be stored in the iCloud Drive. If the storage of your iCloud runs out then you might face some consequences. You can read more about it here.
