How to backup your WhatsApp messages to iCloud?

Such a feature is the ability to make backups of your conversations. In iOS, you can make a backup of your conversation on iCloud and restore from those backups anytime you want.

This comes in handy when you have an important conversation with someone and your mobile gets lost or stolen then you can easily restore your chats using these backups which not have all of your messages but included media too.

How to backup your WhatsApp messages to iCloud?

  1. Open WhatsApp on your device.
  2. Go to WhatsApp Settings.
  3. Tap on Chats.
  4. Then tap on Chat Backup.
  5. It will show you information about your last backup.

You can also select whether you want to include videos in the backup but remember that depending on the size of videos, they can take much space and also take a longer time to backup.

How to schedule automatic WhatsApp Backups?

You can also schedule automatic backups that will be made on Daily, Weekly or Monthly basis. To do so;

  1. Open WhatsApp on your device.
  2. Go to WhatsApp Settings.
  3. Tap on Chats.
  4. Then tap on Chat Backup.
  5. Select  Auto Backup.

Now, an automatic backup of all of your WhatsApp chat will be made depending on the option which you chose.

It is better that if you select weekly basis for automatic backup as on daily basis it can take a lot of space on iCloud Drive while on Monthly basis, you never know when you’re gonna lose data so, it’s better if you choose automatic backup on weekly basis.
