A few days ago, Microsoft blocked the iCloud for Windows app from being installed by Windows users after a bug was discovered which made the app incompatible with the Windows 10 version 1809.
The issue discovered by Apple was an incompatibility which could result in users facing problems when updating the Shared Albums. Many users who already had iCloud prior to the update have encountered bugs such as trouble with syncing photos.
At the time when the issue was discovered, Microsoft said that it is working with Apple to fix the issue and release a version of iCloud for Windows which will be compatible with the latest version of Windows 10.
Today, Apple released an update for iCloud for Windows and the latest version is iCloud for Windows version 7.8.1 and it is developed to fix the compatibility issue that users were having with the latest version of Windows 10.
Before today’s update, users were blocked from installing the latest update of Windows 10 if it detected that an older version of iCloud is installed.
The fix isn’t mentioned by Apple but Apple has changed its support page which now says that iCloud for Windows is compatible with “Windows 7 or later.” Previously it said that “Windows 7 through Windows 10 April 2018 Update.”
You can download the latest version of iCloud for Windows from Apple’s website.
