Some iCloud users were emailed by Apple to apologize for a bug which caused those users to receive an email which stated that there paid iCloud subscription plan had been canceled.
The emails were specifically sent out to 50GB iCloud subscribers which caused the users to think that Apple was discontinuing this storage tier completely and it had sent the email to users in this context. The Option to purchase the storage plans were also affected on both iOS and macOS.
Most people predicted about this bug that Apple sent these emails in an error and Apple followed to these to clarify to the users that it was, in fact, a mistake and there has been no change made to iCloud storage plans.
Apple said in the follow up that:
“You recently received an email incorrectly stating that your iCloud storage plan has been discontinued,” the email read. “Your 50 GB iCloud storage plan is not affected and will continue to renew automatically.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have any questions, please contact us.”
Users who were worried about this email should be worrying as it was just a mistake and Apple also clarified that it was, in fact, a mistake.
